Get to know your way around the WDC
WDC Theater
The WDC's biggest feature is the second story theater auditorium containing over 400 raked seats complete with stage and curtain. This historic theater has hosted concerts, speeches and other demonstrations from celebrities like Katharine Hepburn and even First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. The theater has tremendous acoustics and is the premier storytelling stage in Louisiana.
Dining Room
The WDC Dining Room is perfect for small gatherings of up to 50 people. The adjacent kitchen with dual swinging doors makes this the perfect room for seated dinners, supper clubs or entertaining of clients. The Dining Room also plays host to occasional pop up dinners. Parlor
The Parlor of the WDC is adjacent to the Dining Room. This room can be sectioned off with pocket doors for smaller gatherings as well as opened up to the Dining Room for a larger party. Perfect for cocktail parties or club meetings, this area is adjacent to the foyer area where bars are generally set up for parties and other functions.
Food
The WDC has a nice sized kitchen that can accommodate many arrangements. We have a list of approved caterers that we work with. If you have a particular caterer in mind, we would be happy to work with that company to help them be on our approved caterer's list.
Bar
We can accommodate a full bar service for your private event. For publicly ticketed events, please provide 60 day advance notice in order to secure appropriate permits for your event.
Parking
Parking is limited. There is a small parking lot directly across Margaret Street that is part of the WDC property. We can arrange for valet parking should your event require it at an additional fee.
